On September 24, 2026, the NCU issued Order No. 736\/4531 restricting access to a number of web resources, including the entire .CO.UA domain zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The NCU usually does not provide detailed reasons for such decisions in its official documents: orders are issued in response to requests from the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, or other government agencies as part of national security measures or efforts to counter cyber threats. Since an entire zone has been restricted, this is a regulatory decision to block access within the country to a group of resources using this domain addressing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to distinguish between the legal status of a domain and its actual network availability. The NCU order applies exclusively within Ukraine \u2013 it requires local operators and providers (ISPs) to restrict user access. The domain itself does not disappear anywhere: it remains registered in the registry, its status does not change, and the hosting continues to operate. There is no procedure for \u201ccancelling registration\u201d as such \u2013 if a domain is registered and paid for, it belongs to its owner until the end of the registration period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
